Dragon Hole. Most Hong Kong apartment buildings are tall and skinny. This one is very wide. For this reason, and proper Feng Shei, a hole was left in the middle of the building so the dragon living in the mountain (?!) could get down to the ocean for a drink. Located at Repulse Bay.
Sun Yat -Sen Museum. This building was originally built by the Kom Tong family in 1914. Later the LDS Church owned it and used as a meeting house for many years. A few years ago, it was traded by the Church for the property that the Asia Area Office now sits on. It appropriately honors Dr. Sun Yat -Sen, a leader in Chinese history at the turn of the 20th century who tried to establish Democracy in China. He was also a Christian .
Man Mo Temple. This Temple, on Hollywood and Ladder Street, may be the oldest Temple in Hong Kong. It was built before the British arrived in 1841. It is full of incense burners...these coiled ones burn a long time, and they are all burning. As you can imagine, the Temple is very stuffy.
