Masters of Bamboo Scaffolding

These aren't the most exciting buildings in Hong Kong, but this is the upper 1/3 of the buildings we see out of our bedroom window every day. They build them tall and skinny!
When repair work needs to be done, the scaffolding goes up! Chinese are masters at using bamboo and what we call boon doggle - actually nylon strips - that holds the bamboo together. It took only about 2 days to completely surround the entire building of at least 25 floors.
As far as we could tell they didn't use any safety straps as they worked.
After the bamboo is in place it is enclosed in green mesh. We're amazed at how strong the bamboo is!
